How do GREENIES® JointCare Canine Treats help care for joints?
GREENIES® JointCare Treats help actively nourish joints and protect mobility for adult dogs of all ages and sizes. Our tasty treats contain glucosamine and chondroitin, from both green-lipped mussels and chicken cartilage, to provide the building blocks for healthy joints. Natural sources of omega-3 fatty acids, from green-lipped mussel, fish oil and flaxseed, provide essential nutrients the body needs for healthy joints. Our dog treats also feature naturally occurring sources of amino acids, a source of sulphur for normal cartilage maintenance, vitamin E, vitamin C, zinc, copper and manganese.
Research at WALTHAM, THE WORLD’S LEADING AUTHORITY ON PET CARE AND NUTRITION®, has validated the effectiveness of green-lipped mussel, the featured ingredient in our joint care treats, so you can be assured you’re giving your dog the best nutrition to help maintain joint health for years to come.
What is a green-lipped mussel?
Green-lipped mussel (or Perna Canaliculus) is a sustainably harvested, bivalve mollusk shellfish only found in New Zealand. Green-lipped mussel has a dark brown or green shell, a green lip around the edge and only has one adductor muscle (similar to the muscles in a human hip). It is one of the largest mussel species reaching 240 mm in length.
It’s clean, green cultivation and pollution-free growth environment make them one of nature’s best sources of omega-3 fatty acids, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, glucosamine and chondroitin. This unique blend of nutrients provides the building blocks known to promote healthy joints. GREENIES® JointCare Treats are the only joint care treats in pet specialty stores to include this unique ingredient.
