Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are a breath freshening treat and are not considered a dental treat. Technically, as a dog chews any treat with some level of abrasion some plaque may be removed from the teeth. However the slight plaque removal is not enough to constitute cleaning or providing a dental benefit. For a treat providing maximal dental benefit, use Greenies®-the original green smart treat®. The Greenies® chips in Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are to enhance flavor and promote breath freshening.

They were discontinued in February 2010. If you loved Smart Biscuits, we recommend you try Greenies Dental Chews or Natural Choice Tartar Control Biscuits.

No. Greenies® dental chews are made from different ingredients and are formed through a proprietary manufacturing process. Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are a dry treat and are formed using a mold. Smart Biscuits resemble the texture of other dog biscuits.
There are no dyes that would result in stained carpet or furniture.
Yes! We recommend that you DO feed both Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats and Greenies® dental chews to your dog. Although Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are complete and balanced, keep in mind that your dog’s diet should not consist of more than 15% of calories coming from treats.
Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are the ideal compliment to any dog’s diet as they are complete and balanced and provide the benefit of breath freshening with Greenies® Chips. Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats do NOT provide the same dental benefit as Greenies® for plaque and tartar reduction. Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats allow you to treat your pet more frequently (we suggest only 1 Greenies® per day) with a healthy value-added snack.
Because Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are complete and balanced, you may feed as many as you’d like according to our treat size and body weight guidelines (see feeding directions). If feeding several treats per day, adjust dog food quantity accordingly to help maintain pet’s weight.
You may feed both Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats and Greenies® to your dog. Although Greenies® Smart Biscuit® treats are complete and balanced keep in mind that your dog’s diet should not consist of more than 15% of calories coming from treats.
There are no ingredients that would be harmful to cats, but cats have unique nutritional requirements when compared to dogs. Taurine is an example of an essential amino acid required by cats and not by dogs.
